Scope and Contents From the Sub-Series: The National Theatre Translation Fund (NTTF) was created in 1991 by a consortium of theater artists and organizations who felt that a major national effort was needed to encourage stageworthy translations of plays into American English. The fund was initiated by New York's CSC Repertory with funding from Pew Charitable Trusts and administered by LMDA. Translation commissions were awarded annually.
