Content Description
The Betty Crippen collection on University of Puget Sound's Study Abroad Program includes 2 boxes of materials from 1956-1993. The collection documents Betty Crippen’s experience participating in study abroad programs offered by Puget Sound. The collection materials relate to an array of countries including: Austria, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, India, Nepal, Bangkok, Thailand, Sri Lanka, South Korea, China, and Malaysia.
The collection is arranged into three series: Study Abroad Program, Vienna, Austria, 1969-1971; Pacific Rim (PacRim) and Asia Travel Study Program, 1973-1982; and Miscellaneous printed material and ephemera, 1956-1990. Material types include correspondence; administrative records such as itineraries, program brochures, memos, orientation materials, and course information; photographs; negatives; slides; and a wide array of printed materials such as pamphlets, guidebooks, newspaper clippings, and other material. The print materials from the 1980s and 1990s were compiled by Crippen's granddaughter, Cathy Corley.
