Scope and Contents
Arthur Murphy's adaptation of Moliere's "Cocu Imaginaire" was presented to the audience with "a dramatic romance, told in action, called 'The Rival Knights' and 'The Sultan';" the evening ended with a "grand dance." The actors were Mr. Wroughton, Mr. Thompson, Mr. Whitfield, Mr. Fearon, Mr. Helme, Mr. Wewitzer, Mr. Lewis, Mrs. Mattocks, Miss Stuart, Mrs. Davenett, Mrs. Morton, Mrs. Abington. Advertised for the next day: "The Wives Revenged," "Man and Wife," and "Poor Vulcan." The evening to benefit Mr. Whitfield.
